Intuition

The puppy visits for Millicent's puppies went well and everything fell into place as usual. There is always the right puppy for each family and the right family for each puppy.
How is that possible, I often wonder, but it is and I trust that.

There are puppies that have soft and sweet souls that need a quieter environment in the early stages of life. And there are always individuals that can provide that and raise that puppy to be a very intuitive and giving dog, great therapy material.
Then there is the active and high energy family or a city dweller looking for a puppy that can handle unexpected surprises that comes its way (screeches, sirens, a child or motorcycle dashing by) and there are puppies that can handle that easier than others.
Though most puppies fall in between, they all benefit from starting in the right environment.

The next steps are in your hands. Raising a puppy can be a challenge with the nipping, potty training, chewing, etc. Many of my families are raising a puppy for the first time so understanding and dealing with natural puppy behavior can be frustrating , but I am here to help guide you step by step and have done so successfully for many families.

Now here are our most recent matches!

First day of puppy buddies for Millicent's ten.

With a little more confidence than some of our other litters, Millicent's ten puppies (5 boys and 5 girls) climbed into our laps and some even ventured over to the toys. This was their first day with the  "Puppy Buddies," our volunteer puppy socializers.  There were a few that wanted to crawl into or under pillows to get away and nap, but this is expected on their first exposure to the play room. Most of what we do this first time is just cuddle. Tough job!

Getting ready to go home

Out door parties, people swooping you up out of the blue, tall grass to jump over....no problem!
Pip's puppies attended their "going away' party with our volunteer puppy buddies.

They said their good byes and gave out lots of snuggles. We'll miss you babies, but we are so excited for your new lives to begin!
Be good boys and girls.

Good bye  Sylvie

Eyes wide open

Millicent's little rascals are already climbing out of the whelping box at two and half weeks old! Their eyes have just opened and they are ready to explore.

Just look at our big blocky heads and shiny coats, ooh la la!

Eyes about to open....few more days

You have got to love these puppies' wonderful blocky heads and shiny coats. Millicent's puppies are always so solid and gorgeous!

Not much action in the whelping box though. Eyes and ears still closed. They are gaining nicely, so Milli is feeding them well.
Next week these babies will finally see and hear who has been snuggling them all their lives!

Pip's little peeps

At five weeks old Pip's little babies are beginning to get excited about new adventures. Hesitantly yesterday in the playroom, they tried out new toys and climbed into people's laps. The braver ones grabbed onto our shirts and tugged, thinking they were pretty funny!  But the thing that I am most excited about is they are beginning to get the hang of the "litter box!"
